Thanks Jay! It means a lot for you to say my work captures emotion. Oftentimes I don't feel I quite do that well enough, and it makes me sad as an animator XD! But I am glad everything reads here, that utter desperation/end of rope kind angst lol.

Thanks for the compliment on my lines! I play with the size sometimes but I always find thin feels right for me.

The secret to sketchlines like this is that I draw pretty thick and bulky at first with a charcoal brush preset and then I go over them again with a much thinner 'stumpy pencil' brush in PS. (you can download here if you're interested: [link])

I really think that it does, in a lot of your sketches and drawings! I often feel the same about my own, but I guess the images and emotions in our heads don't always translate to paper in the way we picture them.

That's a really neat brush, thank you for the link! I always mean to do more traditional sketching but rarely get around to it anymore, at least that gives the look of it, hahah!

O-O I just... I want to give him a hug and tell him it's okay. The emotion behind this is perfect; you evoke empathy from your viewers and give Veil a rare relapse of vulnerability. I love it.
